St. John's United Methodist Church is committed to being the church for each other and for the people of Watts. We will worship together, study the bible, pray for each other, and support one another on our discipleship journeys. We will actively share God's love and grace with those currently outside our doors, focusing particularly on children and their families.
Tell me about your worship service?
Worship starts at 10:30am and is an hour and a half long. Our service includes praise and worship music, traditional hymns, prayer, scripture, and preaching. We encourage our children and youth to participate in worship as liturgists, ushers, singers, and dancers. Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of each month. All are invited to participate in this sacrament.
Do you have a children's ministry?
Yes. Children ages 5-12 are encouraged to attend Children's Church, which begins shortly after the start of the morning worship service. Children will pray together, study the scripture, and participate in various crafts and games as part of Children's Church. For children under 5 there is a nursery in the back of the church. Parents may choose to stay with their children in the nursery, or leave them with the nursery attendant. All of our nursery attendants and Children's Church volunteers have submitted to background checks, and we make every effort to insure the safety of all children at our church.
What events do you have throughout the year?
